The goal of the Citizen Corps Program is to enhance and improve the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office emergency response and preparedness efforts by developing a pool of trained volunteers. Our volunteers support community safety, disaster preparedness, and emergency response efforts of first responders and, as a group, they are a force multiplier supporting the Sheriff’s Office.
Through quarterly training academies and ongoing training, the Citizen Corps Program directs energy and resources to make our community safer and stronger.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to apply. We are looking for volunteers interested in making a dedicated effort to our mission. If you are seeking a temporary volunteer opportunity, to fulfill requirements of your school, place of employment, or court-ordered community service, please click here for a list of organizations seeking temporary or occasional volunteers.
If you are interested in enrolling in our free Community Emergency Response Team training academy or would like more information about our program, please contact us.
